Re: Is Social Media The New Way To Go?

I somewhat agree but also disagree.  Internet is super important, but is not the do all and end all of things.  Sites like FaceBook have lost some relevance, and Myspace is completely extinct.  I think there is a human element where we still desire to interact with others at some level face to face, or thorugh phone calls.  I believe that grass roots marketing, or utlizing a multi-prong approach to marketing for your business is the best approach.  People still respond to mailers at some level, or companies would not bother sending out millions everyday.  People also flock to demonstrators at the mall or a store to see what all the commotion is about.  It is only human to want to interact in a variety of ways, but having true relationships in business wil involve some element of spending physical time with someone, i.e. a business client, a partner, etc.

Marketing  website is a tough nut to crack, but when you break down what the website does it makes it easier.  If the website sells a service then market the service with your business name and website so people can go to it.  Do not only rely on internet and emails to sell your product or service.  A big avenue people forget about is client referrals.  When an exisitng client makes a testimonial about your producto or service to others they become you best source of adverstisement.  Think outside the box and be creative.
