I was a medical transcriptionist for over 13 years (took course through Ashworth way back when, but it used to be PCDI). I had a very lucravtive career thanks to Ashworth and what they taught me. Unfortunately, due to the new electronic medical records, my business tanked. My once-flourishing career was no longer. At 45 years old, I had to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up (haha), so I decided since I have already a vast knowledge of the terminology, and have several doctors I know personally, why not start a business in medical coding and billing? So, folks, that is why I am here. I finished my terminology exams in 1 day, each time (had to wait for my shipments of course). I am currently awaiting the next module, which will start me off in the coding and biling direction. I am very excited and very confident that this will be a great career!
