EN120 question

Am I right in assuming I can't start lesson 3 until I submit lesson 2’s writing assignment? I keep hitting writer's block every time I try to do the writing assignment and am not making any headway with you. I don't want the writer's block to stall my progress when the lessons. Is there anyway I could do lesson 3 while I'm letting my brain have a break from the writing assignment?
